One of the things I absolutely love about my visits to Italy is being able to admire the beautiful clothing designs. Best of all are the new spring fashions.
I had a wonderful day in Florence recently where the shop windows were full of a riot of colour for the new season.
Spring 2014 promises a bold and painterly collection in lush rainbow colours. There are romantic floral bouquets and heavenly gold at Dolce & Gabbana. I loved the lady-like flower strewn suits in the window.
Amazing Prada has dazzling colour and sparkling embellishment. The gorgeous jeweled cuffs are bound to be popular.
Fendi in Via Tornabuoni always has divine windows. This season is no exception. Once again, colour and clean lines seem perfect this spring.
Roberto Cavalli is a particular favourite of mine. His beautiful shop on the corner of Via Tornabuoni and Via Vigna Nuova had the added bonus of the Giacosa Caffè where I always stop for coffee and watch the gorgeous clientele.
The shoes this season also come with colour, flowers and embellishment. The Miu Miu flats are the perfect spring shoe.
Children are not forgotten. There are exquisite mini designs for little people. Gucci showed molten bronze and silver.
Window shopping is much like visiting art galleries…works of art are there for everyone to enjoy.

Concierge tip: You’ll need to be well-fuelled for a day of shopping in Florence! We therefore recommend you take advantage of the Baglioni Breakfast & More offer at Relais Santa Croce which provides a full complimentary buffet breakfast as well as a 20% discount on the hotel’s daily rate.
